QualificationsThe University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center Department of Internal Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine, is seeking an experienced Academic Hospitalist to serve as the Lead Hospitalist for St. Paul University Hospital. Applicant must have an M.D. degree or equivalent, from an approved LCME medical school and satisfactory completion of an Internal Medical residency program from an ACGME accredited program. Candidate must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience as an academic hospitalist, proven leadership and managerial skills, be eligible for Texas medical licensure, and be board certified in Internal Medicine. Training/experience in clinical research, quality improvement and patient safety activities is desirable. Position will assist the Section Head of Hospitalist Medicine with a growing group of 10 academic hospitalists, staffing a broad mix of teaching/non-teaching inpatient ward and consult services. Position will also have medical student and resident/fellow teaching responsibilities.
